The telescopic antenna helps. I have some dedicated sw radios that do not pull in daytime sw nearly as clearly as this does. My only problem with this radio is the on/off/volume *.

A look at the top of the unit reveals this product's real versatility. It's an excellent 3rdoption when the power is out.

There isa large backlit dial to select radio frequencies. The dial is smooth and even has the old style retro magnifying circle. By the by tuning is easier when one uses the out side rim of the dial.
