Super easy to install and should last for 10 years.
It works perfectly, i tested several times, with its small size it blends well in the ceiling.
Most of our smoke detectors are hard wired with battery backup, which religiously fails during the night and wakes us up.
This gives us a working detector even when the power is off.

Mine went into the basement where i attached it to wood

Im not sure if id risk attaching it to a painted surface where paint and drywall might be damaged when removed

As my smoke detector batteries die im going to replace them with these instead of creating more hazardous waste by throwing away disposable batteries

Note that the battery is not designed to be replaced so when it dies you must replace the unit
