First off for those that dont want to read through a detailed review heres my quick summary and advice if you dont already have a security camera system look into an nvr network video recorder and the ip based cameras

I fall under this category and was able to upgrade my 720p resolution system qc9016 dvr with qca7201b and qca7202d cameras using the existing bnc cabling with no issues

Image quality was substantially improved with the 4mp cameras dont expect to read vehicle license plates from cars across the street

To my surprise 4mp cameras were available in the qca line of products

As another note i wanted to perform the replacement by directly swapping out cameras and not have to drill new holes in my stucco walls

Notes and observations some pics attached the bnc cabling that comes with the 4mp cameras appear to be thicker than the ones i installed from my 720p kit the 4mp cameras are smaller than the 720p cameras the bnc and power cabling from the 4mp camera is about 2 inches shorter compared to my 720p cameras

There was one camera i was unable to replace because the bnc connector from the new 4mp camera would not reach
