Note this supports 16 channels a channel a camera but you only get 8 cat5 ports for 8 channels if you want the full 16 you need to add ports yourself w poe i think its basically buy a poe switch to extend the number of channels cant recall we used 8 cams just an fyi

I am reasonably capable when installing home technology systems and was able to set up two cameras connected to the dvr with the dvr connected to an hdtv without too much trouble

I quickly realized installing cameras outside was beyond me it requires connecting to power and running cables to the dvr or connecting to a home network not wirelessly
