You may have to push up slightly with your hand on the liftgate as the bolt comes out as there is a lot of weight here

This will be evident when you remove the second bolt you will need to be careful and recheck whatever it is holding your gate up as there will be nothing left holding it here

Then push up on the liftgate slightly more to thread the bottom bolt properly on one of the two sides
