Highlights
Quality
Reasonable price, quality seems good and quick delivery.
Installed these in a 2006 saab 9-2x aero which has had long standing problems with the hatch struts.
At first i didn't think they would work as the subaru factory supports come with the ball permanently attached to the support arm socket.
Competitiveness
Item as described works great on my wife's 2007 subaru impreza outback sport wagon.
Much cheaper than the oem one and made in usa.

I think it was on the 4th set of factory pistons when we finally gave up and spent 2 years propping the hatch up with an ice scraper
