Pros
The rear hatch on my 2000 4runner now pops all the way open under it's own power after being unlatched. It pushes the hatch higher and quicker, so be careful it may hit you on the way up.
Cons
Good customer service, poor quality control. Isn't that the motto for all part suppliers and mfrs. Only lasted a year. Do not buy this inferior product.
They are barely capable of holding up the lift gate and are incapable of lifting it above the halfway mark. They no longer lift the tailgate. Starts to drop and have to duck for overhead clearance.

I thought i had to compress the thing to make it fit and i was sure it was malfunctioning because i couldnt get it to budge even with my full body weight

Turns out thats proper – you shouldnt be able to make it budge because it needs that strength to lift the gate with such small leverage

If you are replacing your lifts then your top bushings have probably crumbled away replace them with some diy nylon bushings
