The eraser comes with the black erasing surface out. It has a microfiber and a felt side, both erase well, but the felt side works better for us. Follow-up wipe works as if the board has been cleaned by a custodian.

It looks like someone glued a microfiber cloth to the bottom and then cut around it. No directions on what types ofsurfaces each type is best used on. Long save your money and use a microfiber rag.
