Usable space is only about 8 by 15. The description as advertised is 11 x 17, but the actual writing/magnetic space is much smaller as the frame is huge.

Be careful there are two sizes available and the picture is of the larger size

The smaller size has the outer dimensions described but the frame is thick so the writing space is smaller

I think if id lightly sanded the frame first the paint would have stuck better on the first coat
