Pros

Trained technician. To legally use them, you do need an fcc license.

We deployed these radios for summer camp this year in the sequoia. Works great for camping or cruise trips. We use these for dirt biking and the range is great.

Two glaring issues make this radio hard to recommend. Material it is made of is, apparently, not that durable.

Solidly built with many extra features, so if you are new to this type of radio, you will need to learn all the features.

The battery lasts a very long time, i charged them at home and they lasted 4 days on the road non-stop.

That was at first it's been 10 months for one and the other started crapping out about 9.

I bought the item on sale and can't return it and get another one in time for the sale so unfortunately im stuck with these.

The range and quality of voice transmission are excellent as compared to my existing walkie talkies.

There is another radio service, that is very similar m called frs, or family radio service.

It would be better if it was a usb c but no big deal.
