The stand is only a few inches thick so if you have a bigger backpack, this stand should fit. I have something that lifts my laptop up to a suitable height.

The stand sits at an angle that still allows you to use the keyboard. Most stands elevate the laptop, forcing you to using an external keyboard.

This allows for good airflow as well as improved ergonomics for typing or simply viewing content. Only negatives are that the rear support blocks most of the vents.
