I had to break off the alignment plug extension where it is supposed to guide into the ground for a 3lug plug as it was a little too close to the other one and would not allow me to plug it into a standard receptacle

My answer was no so i spent 18 dollars on this appliance specific surge protector because it was worth it

Many surge protectors or suppressors are not able to protect items like fridges or freezers due to the high number of amps so dont just buy the small plug protector thinking it will protect a fridge andor freezer
