Pros

Even the side that is mounted to the banister is sturdy. Seems sturdy enough after a year even with no adjustments.

Cons

Trying to close it after every time you open it is a chore. Bottom lock is too long and hits the frame so the bottom doesn't close. Doesn't fit the railing. Some of these parts have sticky tape on them, but unfortunately the tape isn't actually sticky... Read More

It is practically impossible to open or close with only one hand. The hinge pins will bind in the hinge when you try to lift the gate at the latch. Even with two hands, it's very hard to line up the pins.

Banister ties are super short and won't go around my normal sized banister. This is not for use with a tapered bannister.

When fully slid, it won't enter the provided gap. When opened, it lifts completely out of the holes it is supposed to stay in. We find ourselves lifting the entire gate off the 'hinges' on both sides.
