The prongs stay fastening the hair - it only releases the barrel. Very fiddly to get water in and reattach to the main body. Advertised for short or long hair,v it is a bit too think for short hair.
I feel this product is defective and may be dangerous and unsafe to use! Doesn't heat up so will not produce steam. It is not stable and strong, it breaks mid-use.
