Pros

Will prowse has a yt channel and reportedly favourably about the early renogy lifepo4 batteries.

Cons

The available ah is way down on a full charge and on top of that the customer support, though polite, is useless. The bms fails in almost every way.

Quality

I will say though that these appear very well made with decent posts to connect to and reportedly very high quality cells.

Using them in an off grid cabin - solar charging at max 30athe app works ok.

Shipping

The shipping information said clearly that no item had been received by the shipping company.

Packaging/appearance

They are silly really, because if they sent me the battery i ordered through the renogy website, ide buy alot more batteries an...  Read More

Competitiveness

You will not go wrong with renogy products.

I haven't used it yet but what i've experienced of all renogy products is that they are high quality for mid range prices.

What i have found out is, renogy web site has a different customer service than amazon renogy customer service.

Ive also bought the same battery though the renogy website, and they have took the money and said its shipped but it hasn't.

Only thing was i had ro purchase a dc to dc charger as the motorhome charger wasnt sufficient for lithium

Lead acid batteries do not give the amp hours that they claim so a cheap deep cycle battery from a high street seller say will only at a push give half of the quoted amps before you start to degrade the already paltry amount of cycles you will get from it before it requires replacing

A 100ah £100 battery from a popular high street supplier will only really survive a couple of hundred cycles or maybe 23 years 5 if youre lucky if you dont run it past 70 charge and less if you run it down to 50 every time

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

    Thats 3050ah usage each time

You can reliably run this down to 80 or even 100 if you absolutely have to not recommended regularly though and you must recharge asap which is 80100ah

Well yes but it will last over five times if you treat it well and here is the kicker

Ascertaining the remaining capacity of a lead acid battery is not an exact science as lead acid batteries discharge over a much wider voltage range and you can only really judge the voltage when you take it out of circuit and leave it to rest for hours or days which is not something people will do

So you are left guessing the remaining state of charge soc where as lithium batteries are easier as you can use either a negative shunt see victron smart shunt to work out the remaining soc and current usage but these handily have a bms built that reports to you allowing you to see a much more reliable assessment of its state via its bluetooth app
