Pros & Cons
Pros
Not a good carpenter, but this was a great project. Has not left me needing more power. This is a fantastic all-in-one kit and renogy is a great company.
Renogy's kit takes out all of the guess work. The bluetooth modules maximizes the value. For all the haters out there, keep your snarky comments to yourself. Then lapped over everything worked perfect and will never come loose.
System works well and charges our batteries from around 60% soc to virtually full in about 4 hours. Even with fridges, instruments, autopilot and other domestic loads while under way. The battery monitor shows how many hours of battery are left at the... Read More
The kit makes it a no-brainer for needed equipment. Other equipment is necessary to properly connect to battery, ie breaker, fuse, etc.
Cons
Giving the efficiency rating of an individual cell is worthless information and misleading. It comes with a 10 amp fuse that is only good for 1 panel. Resold batteries are much more for the value!
Customer service is a joke and only try to upsell more trash components. When i said no they hung up on me and while waiting hours on hold. Second the same but it no tracking number. This kit is garbage.
If you put the fuse in line with the main cable the fuse will instantly fail. Renogy refused to replace their faulty charge controller.
Highlights
Quality
Also the bluetooth app works well on our trusty iphone 8.
The only thing i think they could improve is the screws they supply for the brackets that go into the coach roof.
I had problems with the charge controller, and they sent me a new one.
The panels came delivered with the box in tatters.
Price
I get it, it costs money to answer stupid questions.
Packaging/appearance
I would like better instructions and the packaging did not hold up well to shipping but it all is working perfectly now that it... Read More
Ready to go right out of the box.
Competitiveness
Got a renogy agm 12 v to go with it, will probably go lifepo4 next.
I've purchased renogy products for other applications.
Don't get me wrong, if i bought a little off grid cabin i would buy a big 8 panel kit in a heartbeat from renogy, wouldn't even... Read More

Not so fast as the instructions are so vague and ambiguous so as to be almost useless

Not sure if there is some sense of pride by their engineers and instruction book writers to intentionally make it difficult for mere mortals or if they are just clueless as to how difficult their instructions are to understand

Of course it wont provide nearly enough power to keep the air conditioning running for very long but i doubt anyone has an rv solar solution that can power an air conditioner

I have a few things to criticize1 the wiring from the panels to the controller is a bit short
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The wiring from the roof down the rear cap into the electrical box just barely reached
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Another meter would be just fine
