I damaged my original solar cable connectors trying to remove them to fit the cables through the rooftop gland fitting

My only problem was with the crimping connection

My electrical cable crimping tool did not seem to line up properly with the wings on the connector that needed to be crimped because they stuck straight out and were parallel making it difficult to get them started for a good clean tight crimp connection

I had to use pliers to start the curve to allow them to be then crimped to the cable

Ive purchased other brands of mc4 connectors bougerv which have served me very well and had almost as good a build quality as these renogy mc4 connectors have

Even the compression grommet seems to be a much more compliantflexible material than others
