Pros & Cons
Cons
Panel suddenly started producing less voltage a few months after installation. Best guess without digging the potting material out of the junction box is a bad bypass diode. Atrociously expensive for no reason whatsoever.
Highlights
Quality
These 450 bifacial panels are great and have been giving incredible results.
These panels easily make there rated output and do well on cloudy days.
Laid them on my front grass in not the best angle for testing and saw a peek of 1138.
On my initial tests, with moderate sunlight and at a bad angle, they're pulling about 200 watts a piece.
Price
Purchased a 2 pack on august 28, 2023 for $805 after tax.
Surprise -surprise cut electric bill by $30.
The price of a pair of panels is now around $300 more.
Shipping
The 2 renogy bifacial 550 watt solar panels arrived safely and were installed.
I was going to order direct from renogy but they were going to charge $300+ for shipping and the shipping was free from amazon.
After placing my order there were some set backs with delivery.
Amazon customer service, did a great job resolving the problem, but would have preferred having 4 good panels.
Packaging/appearance
The packing was excellent, which i expected for a relatively expensive and fragile product.
Competitiveness
In comparison, it takes 12 - 100w renogy panels to give me ~ 900w.
