Pros

It works well for me on a small 25 watt panel. It seems good at blocking battery draw when there is no light on the solar panels. Use it with a 150 watt solar panel to keep the engine battery topped up while camping.



Cons

If you mount charge controller on the suitcase, you'll have to disconnect panel mc4 connectors every time you're done charging (if battery will be disconnected and used elsewhere) everything is hard wired. Never connect solar panels to charge controll...  Read More

The waterproof feature also makes it ideal for my application which is charging a woods trailer for tools, wench, lights etc.


I have run my dc lighting direct from the battery as the other advantages of this controller outweigh this disadvantage.


And the lcd screen let's you know what's going on with the panel and battery.
