Pros & Cons
Pros
This setup feeds a 4 bank agm battery setup with inverter. Connected to a victron solar charge controller and 100ah lifepo4 battery. Allows us to be on the water off grid for days while keeping my batteries charged to run the refrigerator/freezer 24/7... Read More
Two of these for my sprinter van. Mounted on the roof of my pop top camper using 3m vhb tape. Velcro,15' x 2 industrial self sticking, 1 box per panel.
watts=amps x volts. The key to maximizing wattage pull is how you orient them in relation to the sun path & the season.
The renogy solar100w 12v lightweight semi flexible black panel is durable and lightweight. I like it flat and black color looks almost unnoticeable. Stiff enough to place on camp chair in sun and stow.
See pictures. Separately fused. Holy *. I'm blown away. Just unbelievable performance at far.
Cons
Very disappointed. Very dissatisfied. Very frustrating.
Customer support is ok, they want you to pay for shipping to return the product for testing. Impossible to stack and use a renogy branch connector. After two more months of negotiation (seriously- no hyperbole), and return of the panels to renogy, no ... Read More
Renogy gets some good product reviews but if you poke around you will find many reviews like mine. My real disappointment is that the 2 defective panels will take 5 weeks to be refunded!
Panel is too fragile to be used as a portable device. Just 6 months in the sun and the flexibility is half. Panel is super light and does bend a lot.
Renogy 100 watt panels develop only about 60 watts under ideal conditions. After use on my sailboat for 2 1/2 months the dc power output reduced by 50%. Does not work and window to return is passed. Max power output is around 80 watts on roof of car, ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This is a good replacement and easy to install.
All three pv panels together produce about 175w at peak times and are wired parallel in my 12v dc system.
Nice product, and has a bit more output than the other thin, flat panel we have.
It is basically used for a charger for the batteries when we are not hooked up to shore power.
Competitiveness
I purchased 2 of these and about 3 months earlier i bought 5 100watt panels from a cheaper brand.
