Pros & Cons
Pros
This is a good solid design for attaching to solar panels. Mounted a 175 watt solar panel on my motorhome roof. Worked great for sealing the solar wiring in.
The panels feel like they are welded on and are rock solid. Made of rigid, very thick plastic, won't corrode or crack. These mounts seem very sturdy.
Beats drilling dozens of holes in your roof. No holes drilled thanks to the generous mounting surface area.
Used sikaflex for glue down. And sand paper or surface prep. Attach 3m vhb tape to the bottom of the brackets and then attach to the roof.
Cons
Cable entry housing has no actual way to mount it to anything there's no mounting bracket or pilot holes for screws or bolts. Renogy recommends a generic polyurethane adhesive but without any real mounting system for this item, you're just hoping the ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
I'm happy with the product it is a strong and well built.
I am happy with the product and would recommed it to anyone who needs one, good value, well made.
Solid build quality, but be aware you can only use adhesive to mount this, or risk cracking it trying to drive a screw through.
Competitiveness
I put on my truck roof and its topper with vhb tape (holds exceptionally) and added adhesive/caulk under the foots fo level it off.
I then use the 3m vhb tape on the bottom of the brackets and place the panels and the side brackets.
So i got some 3m vhb tape 4950, sikaflex and eterna bond tape to hold it.
The only problem was that it was too large to mount on a roof ridge of my promaster van.

The design trade is tough here because the stiffness of this design is great but the lack of flexibility for mounting ultimately limits the application
