Pros & Cons
Pros
Only issue i have had is the firmware upgrades. It is worth mentioning, i always power these nvr through an external surge-protecting ups to protect them. After using all the features over a couple week, you start to see some flaws or improvement that... Read More
Once you get that down it's cake. Integrates very nicely with the reolink client where you can pretty much do any of the configurations without having to actually sit at the nvr. Previously had a zosi system where the app rarely worked correctly.
The rln16-410 v2 (h3mb18) is very easy system to setup and use. Easy to configure. The manufacturer provides quick setup instructions for the hardware, but there are detailed instructions and videos that walk you through the process.
Cons
Reolink cameras are incapable of capturing a license plate. The app and user interface are trash and must have been designed by someone who never went to college for applications. They advertise two-way audio on many of their cameras, but you can't us... Read More
Reolink has no support presence in the u. The warranty support is no good and tech support is non existent.
It locks up repeatedly and has to be manually rebooted 2-6 times a day. It constantly drops the video from my cameras about every 15 seconds with a video loss screen and then it reconnects. It keeps disconnecting after every couple seconds.
Nvr keeps restarting on a loop. Will refresh if fixed. You need to recreate your own password again.
Highlights
Quality
Works as should great pics records well and setup is easy.
After using the rln16-410 for a few months now, i'm happy with the features and ease of use.
Power adapter failed - entire system goes dark.
This means the entering passwords during initial setup is quite painful as you must use the mouse and a virtual keyboard- the u... Read More
Price
It has set me back $1000, so i wanted to be sure i wasn't just wasting money.
It sure seems to me if your going to pay a thousand bucks for a security system, it should come with cables.
Once i looked at the voltage draw on the system, i calculated that i would likely be over the system voltage budget.
Shipping
They respond very quickly and take of the issue immediately.
Packaging/appearance
I'm not seeing the advantage of packing at all.
I was disappointed nevertheless, that the package deal i got didn't come with any cables.
Competitiveness
This nvr seems to work well with reolink's cameras.
This is so superior to the ring camera system it's not even funny.
Although there are some things different from the other manufactures, it didn't take me long to find what i needed in the settings.
