Pros & Cons
Pros
These are very well built and have some heft to them. Not entirely a bad thing as i wouldn't want to smash my walkie-talkie if i dropped it on accident. Nice belt clip that feels sturdy in use.
Cons
The pre-loaded ctcss & dcs tones cannot be removed by using the * on the front panel. These radio will not connect to repeaters right out of the box. You need to remove the ct code and leave the code for the individual.

I contacted retevis and they provided a replacement charger right away.
Competitiveness
They cover the area without a problem and are much better than the frs radios we were struggling with.
I am replacing very old garmin rhino units and these fit the bill nicely.

The only down side to these radios is you have to program them in order to turn off the ctc code and there is no way to turn it back on unless you use chirp
