The radios i received had the glow feature and you can easily see this radio in a dark or dimly lit condition as is shown in picture 5 with an almost aqua iridescent color

These radios reported to be operating on the family radio service frs frequencies which in the usa is a service of 22 channels see picture 6 that do not require a license from the federal communications commission fcc for using several of those channels for communications under their regulations
