Pros

I use these radios everyday doing comm work and they have held up with zero issues. Programming is simple enough with software available from retevis website. I wish this radio would have taken advantage of both uhf and vhf, as opposed to just uhf.

They have a fair amount of distance in town (roughly 3 miles), and feel really durable. Easily 1-2 miles over heavy forest w elevation changes. Not too bad of a range considering most other brands only go out a mile.

Cons

The channel changing chime is unnecessary and lends to poor noise discipline in use and a home security tool. Very irritating is the provided belt clips that so not attach. Scrapped after a week.

These are pretty good radios for the price.

They're not 1k motorola's, but for the price point.

Competitiveness

Construction is decent, not sure it would be military grade, but better than baofeng radios we purchased years ago.

Not too bad of a range considering most other brands only go out a mile.
