Pros

Use a primer paint if trying to use on a slicker surface, like a laminate.

Water based is also so much easier to work with and to build the color to desired result. Was very easy to apply and dried quickly. The graining tool takes a little practice.

Cons

Half the paint container is gone for a pretty expensive item. Apparently item is not returnable. Like being in a field of cow paddies.

Bad - the wood graining tools are useless around the sink. After a half hour of stirring, still had a very lumpy texture.

Easy to use and easy clean up, as well.

I bought this product multiple time, and 3 out of 4 time it has been bad, clumped up and just garbage.

2 coats of oat stain and 4 coats of satin polypropylene finished it off

Price

I enjoy using the wood n primer but at $199 for a gallon, it’s not worth it.

That was a lot of money wasted.

Would have given 5 stars if i got what i paid for.

Packaging/appearance

I love the look, and everyone who comes in loves how it looks.

I did an entire staircase 14 steps that was painted black and now it looks like a golden oak wood staircase.

The description said it had “everything you need” but the box was missing the staining sponge and foam brush.

The kit came with retique it brand kona oil stain however the pictures for the kit show varathane kona oil stain.
