Pros & Cons
Pros
Rick steves packs a lot of information into this guidebook. The guidebook pages are high quality both in material and color. This book is worth the price for your first time visit to portugal.
This is a must see on any itinerary. Included are hotel and restaurant recommendations, as well as information on many tourist sites and detailed walking tours. Great tips on things to see, places to eat and things to do.
Cons
This book is a general overview and in my opinion not very helpful at all.
Highlights
Quality
They're so well written, and what they do cover is covered with the utmost professionalism and useful insight.
Excellent discussions about where to go, to stay, to eat, driving, very helpful.
With the current format, i end up turning to google or another resource to see what a site actually looks like.
It's the stuff that he doesn't cover that always leaves me just a little bit disappointed.
Competitiveness
In this case it's the palacio de mafra.
