It's compact and light. The adjustable speed feature works great when sanding in tight areas. I'm more inclined to think it's the brushless motor and starts a little differently.

Overall for a $99 belt sander and a lifetime warranty you can't beat this tool.
Price is right, variable speed feature is easy to control.
If, however, you are willing to pay $140 for this sander, pay the extra $20 and get a porter cable.
Waisted $54 on a junky skil belt sander on amazon that totally burned up in three hours.
Packaging/appearance
Despite getting an item that had been previously returned and the box being destroyed, the product itself was in great condition.
Competitiveness
Yes, it is slower than other slightly pricier models but you get what you pay for.
After reviewing the full range of belt sanders available, i chose the rigid r2740 to replace my old wen sander.
