Pros & Cons
Pros
Pournelle's 'his truth goes marching on' is a classic. The debut of esr as milsf author in the technothriller mold. The book also includes a bibliography for each contributor.
Although style and focus vary profusely, one and all they tell a good adventure story. If you're amused at the thought of applying the principles discussed herein to the cultural realm, there is something in this anthology for you.
The book is the first in what is to become a yearly offering. It is as good as the there will be war series and is a worthy successor. Of course, * punch comes first in the book.
Cons
One of most revolting pieces is supposedly documentary - by someone who visited ussr in 70s. Other stuff is not less revolting and is downright crazy. There is, early on, a casual endorsement of the probable necessity of genocide.
