Pros & Cons
Pros
The battery life seems really good. It’s outside and a good 50 feet from the nearest ring range extender. I wish i could have this sensor trigger an automatoc recording on the nearest camera.
The main bracket is built to flex a little when drilled into the wooden fence using the screws. It's counterintuitive, but don't screw in the main bracket too close to the fence. It’s responsive and i haven’t had any issues triggering notifications wh... Read More
This sensor is a bit larger/bulkier than the standard indoor sensors. As thick as 2 decks of playing cards and its a dark (or smokey) gray. Our front entry door is an oversized door in a dark wood finish.
Cons
The tamper feature is nice, but the case is so cheap that i am constantly getting tamper notices when the gate is shut and vibrates the housing. Tampered with’ will then not clear.
The mounting brackets are thin plastic and bend easily on slightly uneven surfaces, preventing the sensor and battery components from clipping in. The bracket that holds the sensor only has to be moved by less than a cm and it becomes dislodged. Not w... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Works as advertised, bridge nearby inside with the gate next to the house.
Works great with my ring security system.
I reset it with the reset pin, set it up again and still get a tampered error.
I opted for the outdoor sensor since it was a dark color and would blend in better with the color of the door.
Packaging/appearance
There are a few good threads on the smartthings community forums on how to do this.
Competitiveness
It’s been tough to find a zwave outdoor contact sensor that isn’t crazy expensive.
I use it just like any other zwave connected sensor on home assistant.
Read some reviews that this would work with smartthings.

I finally found one person who said to loosen the mounting screws if screwed in obviously and that should solve the problem as the screw plate may warp when overtightened and cause the sensor to misread
