Pros

You have to make sure the camera connects to your home wifi via the ring chime unit, or directly to your wifi router. After plugging it in, works 100%.

Ring cameras give you such a wide range to look at and you can arrange what area you want the camera to focus on. My only complaint is the amount of space the camera can capture.

The 1080p resolution provides crisp, clear footage. The nighttime video quality isn't quite as good, but it's decent. The fully wireless connectivity makes it super easy to set up.

Cons

Ring has to rig all their equipment to force you to buy 'accessories' not buying anymore ring anything. Absolutely regret purchasing this. Dissatisfied with performance of product.

Even from 10 feet away can't recognize facial or license plates. Troubleshot it for a few hours 1 foot from my wifi. Also they drop wifi and disconnect. Everytime it fails connect to wifi and you have to start the process after a breaker.

Video quality is terrible. When you zoom in on a license plate of a car parked in my driveway (the camera is mounted right above it), you get nothing but pixelated mess, totally useless. You are better off with stick up camera, with a solar panel and ... Read More

The motion detection is hit or miss even with the many configuration options that it gives.

Price

I bought it on sale and had to further purchase the hardwired kit - at full price the value proposition is horrible.

Otherwise, a good value for the money, and reliable for surveillance and security.

Shipping

Sometimes it will record the leafs of the trees moving while others it will miss the delivery driver.

This feature has come in handy when i've had delivery people at my door or when i've needed to scare off potential intruders.

Competitiveness

I added this to my ring camera system and it works as well as the others.

Spec-wise there are better models out in the market.
