As a newbie even the set-up (before the game actually starts) takes a long time. It's fun but there are only few strategies you can adopt and after few uses it could be perhaps repetitive. This game is awesome to learn strategy and negotiating.

It has six different colored armies and a brown toned old style map. My only dislikes:1. The dragon is a nice option that brings a bit of variety to the game.

If you are beginning in the universe of board/card games, this is the game. It’s a whole new ballgame. It's a step above the likes of monopoly and clue.

The game is useless. It's very cheaply made. The production for this is fairly shoddy. Not even remotely worth the money.

New, updated version is a bit of a letdown. I now understand why the older, more classic versions are so highly priced. Based on comments i have read from other risk collectors, my opinion seems to reflect the overall consensus.
