This lamp is stunning. It isn't super bright but gives off a nice glow with the included led bulb. Shade defuses the light nicely.

The plate is about an inch high and fits underneath my sofa, so i'm able to move the lamp closer to the furniture and have it positioned over where i'm going to sit for reading. Works well with a sectional sofa and appears very high quality.

Cons

Years later and the lamp is broken after very little use. The knob to turn the light on is very skinny and hard to access without knocking the shade, which breaks the shade. Trust me, it’s not worth the hassle.
