It turned out i had the wrong size mistook grip size for actual length of rivet but was able to use them elsewhere

I needed rivets long enough to pass through the hinge base and 12 inch oak plywood plus a washer

I dont know if it was because of my riveting tool or the rivets but they kept breaking too early and i had to improvise to get the remaining piece out
