Pros

It does mess with chlorine levels for two days, as it is saps all the chlorine so it's better to now even have any in the pool for a day or two. Run your pool for the next 48 hours straight and clean the filter again.

Mineral out bonds/clumps the iron metal content in the water, which makes it drop to the bottom of pool making it easier to vacuum clean. This is the product we routinely use when we fill up our above-ground pool or hot tub.

Cons

Never use robelle metal erasure products. Robelle contains phophoric acid that will take forever to remove while it facilitates the growth of algae.
