Pros & Cons
Pros
There's no bluetooth or streaming on this model, but there are sockets to connect ipod/mp3 player, so the radio acts as a speaker. Good volume for play in a noisy household. Main use is for radio talk and audible playback.
Auto tuning is a cinch and it's easy to store favourite channels. It excels at both. Easy to read station and track data on the digital display. Great on fm and dab.
Cons
Waste of money replacing it. Ruined my chance of selling it. It takes years to build up a good reputation, but only a short time to ruin it!
The sound is mono and very dull sounding.
Sure, they look dreadful, with their wardrobe handle and g. It's now in a cupboard while i think where to dispose of it.
The front grill was also loose and the packaging is poor. Reception is also extreemly poor in marginal signal areas. The aerial fixture point is very poor. The transformers break and have to be replaced for £20.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to clean and the sound quality is good also.
As for sound, i'm very happy with the quality.
Most of the red finish had almost fallen off leaving the radio with the underlying grey base showing through.
So unless roberts have improved the quality of the finish be aware, hence my choice of the piano black model.
Price
Made a great birthday present and the price was very keen!
