Pros

It’s is shockingly effective. Analyzing every purchase and researching all possible products to find the best one. Overall, the q5 max is a reliable, high-performance, quiet and powerful robot vacuum that streamlines cleaning tasks.

The mapping technology ensures it covers every area thoroughly. It also maps the space very accurately and determines rooms automatically. However, roomba’s app allows you to revert to a previous version of the map.

The roborock vac is louder than my old eufy 30c max vac that it replaced. It does a lot less of hard bumping into things. It also runs for half the time thanks to the mapping technology.

Half of my second floor is carpeted. Lack of a mop function isn't a dealbreaker. In my den it goes from hardwood to * rug with a pad with ease.

With 5500 pa suction, it effortlessly tackles dirt on both carpets and hard floors. The auto dust collector, powerful suction with double rollers, and improved mobile control app provide a brand-new experience.

Cons

The robot vac is very noisy. It struggles on * carpet, and had been stuck in/on the dock. It also get stuck and throws and error while trying to vacuum near our bar stools. Not off the area rug, not off the hardwood.

Worked flawlessly for 6 or so months. We won't be purchasing future versions as they seem to have gotten way worse then the 6 and 4 year old versions are.

It just repeatedly rams itself into the side of our couch or treadmill until it gives up and throws an error. It will not communicate with the app for scheduled cleanings or allow manual app cleanings.

Nice vacuum, good battery life ,doesn’t suck up wires.

I’ve had a few neato’s in the past, this one by far is the best cleaning and structured one we’ve had.

Then a few months later it started getting lost constantly and couldn't even finish a room.

It detects steps and stops itself to prevent falling down stairs (even without the app).

Price

This was worth the $$ and has taken away a once burdensome job.

And even though it was supposed to be the expensive "pet hair" version, it didn't do a good job of getting to it.

We were outside of warranty, so the repairs cost about $100.

Shipping

I sent the old back in and received the refurbished unit and it is also having the same issues.

I shipped it to them and they repaired it.

Since it arrived, we've ran it once a day in our home.

Packaging/appearance

I roll my eyes when people talk about packaging but this was so perfect i can't not say so.

Inside packing and placement was so well done it would make an engineer envious.
