This gadget is the coolest and a lifesaver. My mil is 91.

Cons
First, takes forever for it to wrap around a lid. Second, difficult to get it around the lid. Third, it just whines to a halt. Ended up removing the batteries just to stop it.

I used to tap the top of a jar with the dull side of a butter knife and then it would open right up.

Its helpful on glass jars but thats only if you can stand all of the grinding sounds

I saw on an ad that it opened a peanut butter jar well im not sure how much peanut butter comes in glass jars

I think this might be a good invsestment but i would suggest you take the batteries out of it you probably wont be using it that often
