I started with the original surface port from microsoft which was huge and heavy.
You can have the normal charger that comes with the surface and this adapter plugged in at the same time.
Price
It works great and the price is reasonable.
Pro and almost bought something larger, seen this and for the cost was well worth the attempt, its new , it works straight from the packet.

I was worried that it was broken because the ethernet port i bought this for wasn't working right out of the box.

You have to wait a minute or two and then youre computer will tell you that you have to restart your computer to use the device correctly
