Bought these for oktoberfest opening events. Even while walking up the long pullout ramp into the moving truck. When walking many miles a day behind a mower this is very important.

These have only been worn on clean surfaces and i am disappointed in knowing these will not make the long haul. One year later, after wearing them 2-3 days per week, they're now ready for the trash.
The laces are of poor quality and snapped after about 3 weeks of wear. My pair has a couple of sharp eyelets and cause lots of problems with laces.
The heal keep peeling off the back of the shoe. The lacing flaps aren't even. The sole is too soft and wears out.

Quality
No rubbing or chafing issues with the tongue or ankle support.
I could go a half-size smaller and it would fit much better, but i can live with the size i have so i'll keep them.
Price
The price, comfort, and a nice wide fit make these my go to boot.
The price was low enough i would have accepted pink ones.
Packaging/appearance
Very comfortable footwear right out of the box.
Competitiveness
Partly i think this is due to the wide toebox, which is good, but they are also longer than expected.

I did immediately replace the stock inserts as i do with all of my shoes although they seem substantial enough

Waterproof is an vague concept these daysthe only real waterproof boots are made of rubber or vinyl and i have some of those for rain work

This boot like mosteven merrill or other highend bootsare only waterproof to the extent that you can walk through puddles or wet grass

There is no continuous waterproofing membrane across the tongue so when i wash off my boots at the end of the day i dont want to get the hose on the top of the boot

The side leather is soft enough that you arent kicking these onyou have to sit and pull them on
