Rocks and minerals (dk eyewitness) is a nice, paperback guide to rocks minerals, and crystals. This book is not a field guide, but it is an excellent way to learn about geology.
The landscape photos are vibrant, even the images depicting browns and tans. The pictures are plentiful and absolutely breathtaking.
Our 8-year-old is captivated by gems, rocks, and minerals. My kiddo loves rocks and learning all about them so this is perfect.
