The dead cat as many have mentioned is more of a dead kitten as it only covers half of the body of the mic

However it covers the actual microphone portion completely and i have no need for it to cover the battery portion anyway

The boom pole is standard and with the exception of some light sticking every once and a while it extends and collapses easily

Make sure you tighten it as much as you can double check and shake vigorously the pole may collapse if not tightened properly
