Pros
Would recommend for any one doing low budget-ish production. In almost every case this microphone outperforms all others. Ordered for my pastor at church.
The rode ntg2 is a good mic for its price. For $600-700, the rodentg3 is my mic of choice. Worth of gear isn't cheap but in the world of audio recording/production gear, it actually is.
The sound is amazing. The audio quality is fantastic. Liked audio reviews on youtube and couldn't pass up the discount on here. The ability to use a aa battery for phantom power is a bonus.
Cons
This is (was) a delicate, sensitive electronic instrument. Box was damaged. Would prefer a working model over against a refund, and preferably nickel.
The noise floor is pretty bad, there is a white hiss that i will always have to remove in adobe audition. When you move the mic even a little bit, the mic makes a rattling noise. The pin was located in the box with the mic, but it is completely severe... Read More

I have a $300 mic but this $700 mic blows audio quality out of the water.
Im using it with the tascam dr 05 but im still testing it out.

If you are unsure as to the authenticity of the product or its extended warranty because i see some reviews stating fake mic mic broke easily etc simply contact the manufacturer rode before the purchase and have your seller verified

The manufacturer rode will only support this warranty and otherwise if purchased from an authorized dealer which does not include anyone on amazon

Apparently there have been issues with counterfeiting selling of used or not necessary visibly damaged merchandise
