Pros
Oil base stain blocker is essential for hidding the stains and adhesion prior to use. Good coverage as to both distance and blemishes. I think it's because i still had some old paint underneath that was peeling.
Used this product on a 2x5 foot patch on my ceiling. Even areas of missing paneling. Tight areas around the light fixture).
Cons
This stuff is just overpriced spackle. Only good part is it actually dries white. Just get a simple sprayer and use actual popcorn texture mix.

I purchased the popcorn roller brush but did not like the look i got when using it so i ended up using a regular small paint brush and hand painted the ceilings to get the texture i wanted

I do agree that if you use it as patch work it might not match your previous popcorn ceiling as this product is not a true white however you could paint it
