Pros

The roost sensor works with an ios or android app. It has an interesting pairing system, whereby you enter your wifi password into the app and it communicates the information audibly to the sensor. No problems with set up or wifi signal.

Cons

Roost is predatory designed (egregious) obsolescence at its worst. The app looks like something that was coded at the dawn of the smartphone era. Support is nonexistent.

We use these to detect leaks under our sink, dishwasher and water heater - they are great!

This is a wifi-enabled water, temperature and humidity sensor with alarm capabilities.

Old non-activated water sensors are now useless.

What is loud is the alert noise that is part of the app that you install on your phone or ipad.

According to roost this will be coming soon (albeit at an additional cost, around $20).

I received my unit 3 days after ordering.

Setup was fairly quick, and the online roost videos will walk you through the process.

Packaging/appearance

It was well packaged and easy to set up using the roost app.

It is similar to the honeywell lyric (which i also own) but about $30 cheaper.

Let's hope that roost fixes some of their start-up problems and that all their products are as good as their leak detector.
