Now mike hammer is a damaged woman struggling with a horrendous failure in her past which included losing her pi license losing her family being declared dead halfway through her carp time and discovering that shooting her traitorous lover was not “easy” but that she really really should have shot him anyway

The story is thick with suspense and plot twists and the worldbuilding is rich yet paced appropriately so the plot never stalls
