Pros & Cons
Pros
This unit replaces a top japanese brand which broke down. Outstanding water kettle at 1/3 the price of zojirushi brand.
The water level indicator is more accurate than my last one and easier to read due to being lighted. The only negative is that the latch is difficult to open. The vacuum pump dispense option is nice.
Water comes out at a piping 208 degrees. It has three temp settings, we use to highest setting for hot water for tea. Quart capacity means i can make multiple cups of tea/coffee before i need to refill it.
Cons
major quality issue/quality control issue, poor durability. It is a bit cheaper, but the quality of the product is very bad.
Hot water would not come out while the blue light was on (yes we did unlock the dispenser) lid does not close properly, this is a major one as it's accident prone. Plastic around the heat vent degrades and may be a hazard.
Rusted in less than 2 months of use. Less than 6 months lifetime is unacceptable. It is even more doubtful whether the seller has not done any product testing.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to setup & is working perfectly.
Timer control is versatile, i can set it for many hours once we are done with hot beverages in the afternoon.
Very slow heating, will take around half an hour to boil a full container of cold water.
The lid does rust from the thin metal top and hot steam constantly blasting past it.
Price
This was the cheapest deal i can found on amazon for the 4.
So my costway water boiler was broken after use it for less than a year and need another one for it.
For around double the price of a normal water kettle, i found this little gem, and can't be more pleased in the week i've had it.
Shipping
Once it finally arrived, i'm quite happy.
My big complaint is i ordered this in mid april & it didn't get here until towards the end of may.
Packaging/appearance
It also thoughtfully comes with a packet of citric acid for de-scaling in the future, but i'm using filtered water to fill it s... Read More
Competitiveness
A+++much better than chinese made and fraction of a cost of japanese made.
They are so similar in fact, i'm convinced they're made by the same manufacturer.
This was considerably less money than some of the other brands.
It has features that more expensive brand don't included such as push button to pour and temperature selections.
