Im using it as a replacement for a fantom green drive enclosure that recently died on me fortunately the drive itself was still ok and i have it attached to my router so its not seeing a lot of use and i cant really comment on transfer speeds because thats pretty much irrelevant to me nor heat dissipation under heavy load

The transfer speed indicator is a useless gimmick as far as i am concerned but i bought the enclosure despite of it anyway and not because of it

Bear in mind that the most windows xp can recognize is 2 tb but if youre running an os above xp i believe it to recognize anything up to 34 tb

Plus the display will not automatically go horizontal if you choose to lay it on its side

It accepted a spare 1 tb seagate drive and with a quick format it was in service
