I soak mine for 30 minutes in hot tap water in the sink and then dry on medium heat. I check shrink periodically until they fit as i wear them, snug with about a 2 inch fold up.

This beanie is really thick and warm compared to many other options, especially the standard paper thin patrol beanie. No chemical smells feels, looks and acts like wool.

Cons

They fit okay, but the weave is open and allows cold air in. Not really the quality of milspec i am used to. Started getting moth like holes after only a short time. The beanie is laughably small.

After wearing it for about 2 minutes my head becomes unbearably itchy. I wanted to get a nice wool hat, as it states in the description, that is gsa compliant. Got 100% acrylic hat made in china.
