Youre supposed to shave a few shavings off the rod into your tinder then strike the rod shooting sparks into the tinder and shavings to cause ignition

The hygrometer and thermometer appear to be accurate though the thermometer reads in celsius rather than fahrenheit thus requiring conversion to us temperature readings

Since its plastic the heat generated to start a fire will likely melt the plastic making the magnifying glass useless after one use
